Profound and vivid insight

You know that stereotype of a perfect life? A big house, family with kids, a pet, a car, maybe a garden and a pool, plus some other extras? OK, that's not me!

Let me give you a little insight.

I am originally from Slovenia, a small beautiful and idyllic country in southeastern Europe. As much as I love it, I haven't lived there for quite some time now.

My dream was to be a journalist, reporter and work in the media. Well, that didn't go as planned.

But my love for languages and traveling changed my life for good.

I chose to study Sinology. You wonder what it is? Yeah, I did too. Had to check the meaning of the word online. It's the study of Chinese language and culture. I was hooked immediately. I didn't know anything about it, but I liked Chinese food, knew how to use chopsticks and saw pictures of Great Wall and Forbidden city. Fair enough right? To go on a mystical journey of an unknown language and culture.

I promise to explain the process of my studies in the following posts (because it's extremely entertaining), but let me continue what I started here.

All this traveling, moving, settling down and relocating started because of my studies. And I don't regret a single minute of it. Yes, it can be stressful, usually very emotional, but it's worth it. For the thrill and experience.
